Open Matt Sundays 4:30 - 6 pm

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE KIDS CLASS

  • Students line up for initial greeting from instructors

  • 10 min of warm ups and exercise

  • 10 min of drills

  • 25 min of technique of the day

  • 15 min rolling

  • Close of class

FAQs

What do I need to bring?

Your child should come to their first classes in comfortable workout clothing. Bring a water bottle, there is a place to refill on site. Come with a good attitude and be ready to have fun and listen to the coach.

What will my child be learning?

In Jiu-Jitsu, kids learn a variety of physical, mental, and social skills. Physically, they acquire techniques for self-defense, including holds, escapes, and submissions. The practice enhances flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular fitness. Jiu-Jitsu instills discipline and respect, teaching children to follow instructions and adhere to rules. It promotes focus and concentration, which can positively impact academic performance. Through sparring and grappling sessions, kids develop problem-solving skills and resilience. Moreover, Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes teamwork, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among young practitioners. Overall, the art helps children build physical prowess, discipline, and essential life skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Who is teaching the classes?

All classes are taught by Rodrigo Fanti, a Black belt in Jiu Jitsu. Fanti is joined by 3-5 other adult coaches who help keep an eye on the kids and make sure everyone is safe.

What if my child be hurt?

As in all sports, kids can get hurt. We have a great team of coaches to make sure that all the kids are looked after at all times. In Jiu Jitsu we teach kids how to “tap” to let their training partner know when its time to stop and let go. Parents are welcome to stay for class.

Ages 5-17

Jiu Jitsu is great for kids to learn at all ages and it’s never to young to start building your child’s confidence.

All Levels Welcome

All levels are welcome to come and learn Jiu Jitsu. Wether you child has never been to a class or has been training for years. Classes are designed for kids with all abilities to learn and have fun.

Year Round

Jiu Jitsu is great because it is year round. We train every week. Your child will love the consistency and will be able to enjoy the sport throughout the year.
